LinkedIn is experiencing a widespread outage with users taking to other social media sites like X and Facebook to complain.It’s not immediately clear what caused the LinkedIn outage, but Down Detector has tens of thousands of complaints that appear to have started around 3:40 p.m. ET. Netblocks reports LinkedIn was down in “multiple countries,” suggesting this is a global problem.The outage comes on the heels of other significant outages from websites like Facebook and Instagram, which both went down for several hours on Tuesday.Anyone trying to visit LinkedIn from the U.S. is currently seeing a graphic that reads, “An error has occurred,” along with an explanation that directs users to the “Help Center.” But clicking on the Help Center link doesn’t bring you anywhere useful.  Even clicking on the “contact us” hyperlink brings you back to a LinkedIn domain that’s currently down.The Help Center page currently gives an error that reads:Unable to locate the server; the server does not have a DNS entry. DISH-owned streaming service Sling TV announced today the launch of its new gaming platform called “Arcade,” featuring classic arcade games like Tetris, Wheel of Fortune, Sweet Sugar, Solitaire Clash, Poker Online and Doodle Jump, among others.Notably, the experience is free for Sling TV and Sling Freestream customers, and they can play games while simultaneously watching live TV content — providing entertainment during commercial breaks. Sling TV also allows users to expand the Arcade row on the home screen to have a more immersive playing experience. Meanwhile, Netflix’s and YouTube’s gaming offerings are only for paid subscribers.Sling TV says that 10 games will be available at launch, with new titles to be added regularly. The current selection is thanks to Sling’s partnership with Play.Works, a connected-TV games provider that distributes games on more than 200 million televisions, and has teamed up with various major TV companies like Comcast, Cox, Samsung, Vizio and more. Sling didn’t say if it would partner with other gaming companies to expand its gaming library, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did. (We reached out to the company for comment.) There’s also a possibility that Sling acquires independent studios and developers. When Netflix launched games in 2021, the streaming giant went on a buying spree as part of its gaming push, acquiring six companies to help build out its collection of titles.“Sling is now more than just TV,” Gary Schanman, group president of DISH Video Services, said in an official statement. “We want people to enjoy their entertainment just as much as we do. The new Arcade offering combines some great classic games with our great TV programming. Netflix’s Avatar adaptation may have suffered a similar critical fate to its predecessor in the M. Night Shyamalan movie, but that didn’t stop it from becoming the biggest show on the platform since in launched a few weeks ago—so it should surprise no one to learn that more is on the way.Netflix has now confirmed in its renewal of the show that, just like the animated series before it, Avatar: The Last Airbender will run for three seasons. A new poster announcing the renewal similarly apes the original show’s naming conventions for its seasons, referred to as “Books,” evoking the elements—with season 2 titled “Earth,” and season 3 “Fire.”One of the biggest criticisms of the live-action Last Airbender has been the show’s structure—condensing the story told across 20 episodes of the animated show’s first season into just eight episodes. Netflix has not yet confirmed the episode count for either of the new seasons, but hopefully, now that the live-action series has largely got most of its setup out of the way, it can focus on offering a stronger version of its take on the series and characters regardless of how much time it gets compared to season one.
